Where does the time go??

Hi there....just to get you up to speed. We have had a busy week already. I committed to take pictures this week during Northbrook's VBS. It has been such fun for me. I am really enjoying all the kids and the excitment they bring. So every night has been crazy and late for us. Simon started his summer tutoring yesterday with his teacher from K5 and a few of his classmates. We stayed for lunch and swimming. Today was golf league.

June is Dairy month

While dad's away

ok....so I am exhausted. Randy went up north for the weekend, so we decided it would be a good time to have a sleep over with a friend. But that wasn't enough, so we have had 2 sleepovers. Last night we had our good friend Rene, and tonight our most favorite cousin...Jenny!! We made a small campfire just to make smores tonight.

Golf league starts

Today was the start of our Little Putters mini golf league. We have decided to do this rather than tball this year. We have 16 kiddos playing. It was chaos, but fun.

Have you ever seen this??

Randy ended up at the dr today due yucky yuck on his arm. We were VERY concerned about the red line going up his arm. The Dr says it is some sort of poision ivy, oak, or sumac. It is extremely itchy. They were not too concerned about it. They gave him some antibiotics and cream. He thinks he got it digging for worms so Simon could fish....what a good daddy. Nobody else seems to have gotten it.

catching up

Oh my gosh, where to begin. Friday was graduation day and it was so much fun. It is so hard to believe I have a first grader now. Looking back at the slide show Ms Hetzel made they have all grown so much. Thank you Ms Hetzel for all your hard work and for loving our kids. The party was such fun.

SO....then off to camping. The annual father's day trip with 4 other couples and kids for an all out adventure. This year proved to be just that. After back and forth phone calls accessing the situation in Baraboo we decided to go. The normally 2 hour trip took well over 4 with a trip on a ferry boat of all things!! They had 94 shut down due to massive flooding. I have seen these kinds of things on TV, but never up close. It is really something. Very sad. We heard of people driving 8-10 hours to get there because of all the traffic and detours. Once we actually got there it was ALL good. The campgroud was beautiful, alot of people cancelled so there were not many people there at all. We fished, frogged, swam, and the best thing of all bike riding. Simon's confidence on the 2 wheeler went up about 100 notches. We barely saw him. He met some new friends and they all rode and rode and explored all weekend. He is becoming so independent. I popped the airmattress, but other than that, no problems what so ever. On the way home today we stopped at Lake Delton for lunch and to see the drained lake. We actually walked on the bottom of the lake. It was so sad. Randy and I were there at a Bed and Breakfast about 6 years ago. Anyway, I have attaced alot of photos for you to enjoy.

Farm Fun

Today was a trip to Madeline's "auntie's" house. Polly has a beautiful horse farm in Sussex.

We spent the time riding horses and gathering eggs from the chicken coop. Afterwards we

had a picnic in the park. We all made it home safe before the rain came.

Tomorrow is the big "graduation day"...stay tuned.

Wednesday

well, all his friends are now out of school. We have until Friday.

Today was a good day, we had lunch with Grandma Jo, I helped

with a project in the class and Simon had his 2 good buddies over

to play all afternoon.

We are headed to the Dells this weekend for camping with friends, so

that gave me time to get organized and start packing. : )

Stay tuned for camping fun photos.

boys will be boys

We had our friends Matt and Brad over for a visit today, while I was weeding the garden, I heard alot of giggling. I was thinking to myself, boy sounds like they are really having a fun time on the swings....ha! Check out the big water/mud/sand mess they found and decided to swim in it. I luckily had them cleaned up before their mom came back.

Now Simon and dad are out shooting the BB gun...oh to be a boy.

Monday, Monday

Well, we have started our last week of school. It is sad to think he will be in 1st grade already

We spent the afternoon at a McDonald's birthday party for Brad. He turned 5 and we all helped celebrate!

Mike took Paige and Simon to see Kung Fu Panda tonight and they loved it. Culvers afterwards, who wouldn't love it.

What a weekend

No, we did not move to a house on the river. This is the result of the massive rain on Sunday morning. The dog enjoyed it, Simon wanted to get his suit on and swim in it, but there was too much lightening. I have never seen this much water in our ditch. What a wild ride.

We spent a wonderful day with family at Bill's 40th birthday party.

Hope you are all dry....I was about to start building an arc, but God did promise that he would never flood the earth again so I am clinging to that. Also, as a visual to that promise. A rainbow.

Simon, Michael and Paige

Party, party, party

Today was just that...party. First it was our friend Michael's birthday and he celebrated with a pirate party at the park. It was really fun, especially the story of "hairy, smelly, pirate Paul" who legend has it lives in the park and comes to steal birthday gifts. The only way to get rid of him is to get him wet, he wants to remain smelly. So the kids did just that, soaked him with squirt guns and water balloons!

The second party was Paige who had her golden birthday and turned 6 yesterday. It was really fun. Even when we had to grab all the food and move to the basement while the horrible storms passed over. A birthday party we will not forget!

Happy Birthday guys.

Buddies

Simon and Alexandros

Today was an all day (well most of the day) field trip to Camp Mini Kani. It was called early due to the weather.

We had a fun time doing jazzersize, hiking, learning about animals and having lunch! Photo attached is the melted ice cream sandwich he was trying to finish.

I was a fun day....we have a weekend full of parties planned. Stayed tuned.

PS ALL the fish have died!!!!

Thursday, June 5, 2008

It was a good day here. Not much new to report, we purchased some new pets today. : )

One died shortly after we got it because Simon thought he could hold it on his lap and pet it.

It is not a dog!! He thought the funeral flushing was big fun.

We also found a polywog at a new pond today and are planning to watch it transform into a frog.

Unless of course that one dies too.

Hope all is well with you.

Pedicure

Well, today I got my first ever pedicure. The "church" ladies went to Azana for a "team building" day. It was so awesome. I highly recommend this if you have not had one done in the past. Costly, but worth it. Then off to the Olive Garden for lunch. It was all good!!

Tuesday....

Well, sorry I have not updated in a few days.

Not much new to report. Simon has been enjoying his last days of kindergarten. We had lunch and a playdate at our good friends the Bushmans today. ALWAYS enjoyable to be with them.
She made the most amazing salad from things she just happened to have. ( I would have done
frozen pizza)

So between school and playing with buddies it has been a busy couple of days.

Watch for something exciting tomorrow!!

Sunday

Sunday was a good day. Simon even commented on all the fun things he did today.

I think he is nuts....he has been bugging us since we put the pool up last week to go swimming, so I let him jump in today. It was about 70 outside, the pool temp was 62!! I thought he would be in and out, but you know kids, they have no sense when it comes to water temp, they just want to swim. He lasted about 30 min in the pool, just having a blast.

Our cousin Nick came over and I took the boys golfing and fishing and then we went to Grandmas for dinner. It was all good.

Hope your weekend was restful.

What a day

What a day
Friday...it was Simon's pretend birthday celebration at school. I made dirt cups which they all enjoyed. It was also his "practice" day eating lunch at school in preparation for next year. After school we ventured to LaFleurs. Here is Simon and his "wife" as he calls her. But if you ask him about it he will deny it. So no mention of Alexis, ok?

Catching up

Catching up
ok...so daily blogging isn't as easy as I thought it would be. This will be our week so far. Tuesday....We had our good friend Paige over along with Grandma Jo and Grandpa for dinner. It was so fun. Building a tent in the laundry room!!

Wednesday, still catching up!!

Wednesday, still catching up!!
Spent the day with friends, fishing again at frog pond. I think 8 frogs, 5 fish and 1 turtle we found today. What fun. Everyone except Amy (including me) took a spill of some sort.

Sad day

Sad day
Thursday, today. We found this tiny adorable little duckling that was abonded by his mom and siblings. He had a hurt leg and they left him behind. SImon and I decided we would rescue him and make him well and then set him free. We took him with us to school, showed all his friends and his teacher. His final instructions to me on the playground were..."mom, take care of my duck until I get home" I knew I was doomed. Well, sadly the tiny duck died. Here is a photo of him. We then had a ducky funeral with some of his friends. It was all good until Jackson dug him back up and was carrying him around!! Daddy and Simon found a good spot for him and reburied him tonight, next to the 3 dogs and 2 cats we already have buried in the back yard. Rest in peace.

Memorial Day

Memorial Day
Today was spent at one of Simon's classmates houses. Alexandros invited the class over, first they have an indoor pool, so they all went swimming, then...they have a pond in the backyard..Simon caught the first fish after that they caught 7 total and 6 frogs. We came home to enjoy the rest of the day in the yard. We even helped dad set up our pool. Now, if the weather warms up and stays warm come swim anytime!! Hope your long weekend was full of fun!

Picnic

Picnic
We spent the day at the Kermendy's. It was good friends, good food and good fun. The kids had such a great time together. Paige mastered the jump rope, jumping 30x before missing...that was the record!! Congrats Paige! Drew had fun just trying to keep up with the big kids. I have attached a photo of his feet at the end of the day. A sure sign fun was had! We are so happy they are not moving away!

Rene and Vanesa's birthday

life is so busy

life is so busy
Where do the days go?? I try to blog everyday so you can all keep up with us, but at the end of the day, I am exhausted!! Lets see, we'll start with way back last Friday. It was our mom's and kid's Friday Fun Day. Some of us moms and kids from his class regularly get together to do a fun activity on Friday afternoons after school. Last Friday was no exception. We were all at the zoo. I have attached some photos of our trip. Who needs to see animals when you have your friends around to play with. It was a great day of fun.

Sunny day

Sunny day
Today was such a beautiful day, we spent the afternoon at Lannon quarry doing some fishing and hanging out with friends. Here is the group. 1 fish was caught, by Marcy!! It just felt great to be outside. The rest of day was spent at home with our good friend Rene.

Not a good idea

Not a good idea
Ok.....don't try this at home!! Yesterday Randy and Simon climbed up to the TOP of the scaffolding!! Oh my. They called me on the cell phone and told me to come outside and see where they were...yikes. Yesterday was full of bittersweetness (is that a word?) Anyway, I graduated from MOPS. It was good, but sad that that season of my life is over. We are moving on to bigger and better things. Life is good.

Frog pond

Frog pond
Well, we finally made it to the much talked about "frog pond" We went with some good friends..it was all boy. They were so excited. 1 frog and 5 fish were caught. We were tormented by a big fish we labeled "dead eye" He looked like he had been hooked in the eye before but somehow escaped. Well...dirty dead eye would swim up close to the bait and then turn his nose up at it. He did this many times which was very frustrating to the boys would wanted to land a big one. It makes for a good fish story anyway. We have heard there are HUGE bullfrogs in this pond, so we will return!!

She's back!!

She's back!!
Well, after the long winter, Grandma Jo is finally back in town for 6 weeks. Simon was thrilled to see her and spent the afternoon catching up and playing. It is so good to have her back....we all miss her terribly.
